CPS Unit No, 97, subunit 4, located in McHenry County, Illinois, was operated by the Brethren Service Committee.
The Brethren Service Committee sent periodic mailings to men in the dairy farm units in an effort to help overcome a sense of isolation. A special publication, Dairy Diary included contributions from dairy workers in the CPS program. The Brethren also sent the Gospel Messenger, devotional materials and abstracts of important CPS activities and events.
Dairy News, published at the area headquarters in Adrian, Michigan also covered news for the Dairy Herd Testing CPS Unit No. 100 subunit 4, to keep men informed and connected. It began in early 1945 and continued through April, 1946.
