    9 C.O.’s are serving as ‘guinea pigs’ in experiments at the University of Minnesota to determine international standards regarding the minimum amount of vitamins necessary to sustain healthy adult life. Results should be valuable in making possible better use of available supplies, especially during the postwar period. Summary:

CPS Unit No. 115, subunit 15, located at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, subjected COs to experiments in climatology and clothing.

 

Dr. Sid Robinson directed this OSRD project sponsored by the Department of Physiology at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Three to four men at a time experienced high temperature and humidity of hot climates in various types of clothing to study the physiological effects.   The project ran from December 1943 through December of 1946 under Brethren Service Committee agency oversight.
